Responsible Gaming at Gamebookers Casino
Games to try

Our commitment: gambling is entertainment with a cost
At Gamebookers Casino we treat gambling as entertainment that carries a price, in the same way as a concert ticket or a meal out. Every game runs on random outcomes and carries a built-in margin for the house, so over time the amount staked tends to exceed the amount returned. No system, strategy or run of results changes that, and we never present our games as a way to earn an income or recover a loss.
That is why we ask every customer to decide how much money and how much time they are prepared to spend before play begins. A budget set in advance, from money you can afford to lose, is the single most effective protection against harm.
- Set aside a fixed amount for gambling out of money left over after rent, bills, food and other commitments.
- Treat that amount as spent the moment you deposit it, and never add to it to win back a loss.
- Give yourself a time budget as well as a money budget, and take regular breaks away from the screen.
- Keep gambling separate from alcohol, stress, boredom and borrowed money.
- Look over your own play history in your account from time to time, so your sense of what you have staked stays accurate.
We hold a gaming licence and verify the identity and age of every customer. Our safer gambling tools, our staff training and our account checks all exist for the same purpose: to keep gambling a deliberate choice made inside limits you have set yourself.
The tools in your account and how to switch them on
Every account includes a set of safer gambling controls, free to use and available at any time. You will find them in the responsible gaming area of your account settings, next to the cashier. Using a limit or a reality check is simply budgeting; you do not need to feel that anything is wrong before you turn one on.
| Tool | What it does | When it applies |
|---|---|---|
| Deposit limit | Caps how much you can pay into your account over a period you choose from the options shown. | A tighter limit applies at once; a looser one only after a cooling-off period. |
| Loss limit | Caps the net amount you can lose over the chosen period, counting returns against stakes. | Applies as soon as it is confirmed and runs until you change it. |
| Session limit | Sets how long a single logged-in session may last before you are signed out. | Applies from your next session onwards. |
| Time-out | Locks your account for a short break, for one of the lengths offered in the cashier. | Starts immediately and cannot be lifted early. |
| Self-exclusion | Closes your account to gambling for a minimum term, with longer terms available. | Starts immediately and runs for the full term you select. |
| Reality check | Shows an on-screen reminder at your chosen interval, with time played and money staked. | Appears during play once saved. |
Deposit, loss and session limits
A deposit limit controls how much money reaches your account, a loss limit controls how much of it you can lose, and a session limit controls how long you stay logged in. You can hold all three at the same time. Reducing a limit, or shortening the period it covers, takes effect straight away. Raising or removing one is held for a cooling-off period and must then be confirmed by you, so a decision made in the heat of a session cannot widen your limit on the spot.
Time-outs and self-exclusion
A time-out is a short break: your account is locked for gambling for the length you pick, and we stop sending you marketing for that period. It cannot be cancelled early, so choose a length you are comfortable with. Self-exclusion is a longer and firmer step. Your account is closed to all gambling for the minimum term set out in the cashier or any longer term you select, we remove you from marketing lists, and we will not knowingly accept a new account from you while it runs. Any remaining balance is returned to you through the usual withdrawal methods. When the term ends, the account does not reopen by itself: you have to ask us to lift the exclusion, and a further cooling-off period applies before play is possible. For a single step that covers gambling sites licensed in Great Britain rather than ours alone, register with GamStop.
Switching a tool on
- Sign in and open the responsible gaming section of your account settings.
- Choose the tool you want: a deposit, loss or session limit, a reality check, a time-out or self-exclusion.
- Select the amount, interval or length from the options shown, then confirm.
- Double-check the confirmation on screen and in the e-mail we send, so you know the setting is live.
- If you cannot find a tool or would like help choosing one, use the live chat on site or write to support@casinogamebookers.co.uk.
Signs that gambling has become a problem
Harm builds slowly and is easier to see in behaviour than in how you feel. The checklist below is not a diagnosis, but if several points apply to you, it is worth setting a limit or a time-out and speaking to one of the organisations in the next section.
- You play for longer or stake more than you planned, or chase a loss to get even.
- You borrow money, sell belongings or use money meant for bills in order to gamble.
- You hide how much you gamble, or are not honest about it with people close to you.
- You feel restless or irritable when you try to cut down or stop.
- You gamble mainly to escape stress, low mood, loneliness or boredom.
- Work, study, sleep, health or relationships are suffering because of gambling.
- You have stopped before and gone back within days.
Where to get free help in the UK
Free and confidential support is available across the UK, for gamblers and for family and friends. You do not need to be in crisis to use it.
- GambleAware - a national charity that funds and signposts free treatment and prevention services, and publishes self-assessment tools and plain guidance for anyone worried about their own gambling or someone else's.
- GamCare - provides free counselling, structured treatment and group support across England, Scotland and Wales, both in person and online.
- GamStop - a free scheme that lets you self-exclude from gambling sites and apps licensed in Great Britain with a single registration, for the term you choose.
- National Gambling Helpline - staffed day and night, free and confidential, offering advice and referral to local treatment for gamblers and for the people around them.
It is also worth speaking to your GP, and to a free debt advice service if gambling has left you owing money. If you tell our team that you are worried about your gambling, we will point you to these organisations, apply whichever controls you ask for and remove you from marketing. You can write to us at responsiblegaming@casinogamebookers.co.uk or use the live chat on site.
Protecting children and other people in your household
Gambling with us is restricted to adults aged 18 and over, and we take active steps to keep under-18s out of our games.
- We verify the identity, age and address of every customer against recognised data sources, and we may ask for documents at any stage.
- Where there is any doubt about a customer's age, we suspend the account and hold play and withdrawals until the check is complete.
- Our marketing is not designed to appeal to children and is not placed where an under-18 audience is expected.
Shared devices are the most common way a young person reaches a gambling site. If children have access to a computer, tablet or phone that you use:
- Keep your password and payment details to yourself, and do not store card details in a browser that other people use.
- Sign out fully rather than leaving a session open, and lock the device when you step away.
- Install parental control or filtering software, available from a number of providers and often built into the device's operating system, to block gambling content and restrict app installs and purchases.
- Tell us if you believe a minor has used your account: write to support@casinogamebookers.co.uk and we will close the account, void the play and look into what happened.
